I launched a new city chapter from scratch and rallied local momentum around rail transit to bring passenger rail back into public conversation.
All Aboard Ohio is a nonprofit advocating for expanded passenger rail across the Midwest. At the time I joined, the organization had chapters in every major Ohio city—except Dayton, a key stop on the proposed 3C+D Amtrak line. I was asked to launch the Dayton chapter from the ground up. I handled everything from community outreach and press strategy to event logistics and newsletter content. That included coordinating two public events, building a local membership base, and pitching rail as both a policy issue and a community opportunity. The goal was to make sure rail had a local voice—and by the end, we had one. Dayton now has an active chapter, visible community support, and a seat at the table in statewide transit conversations.
